Mindful Movement Series: Tai Chi, Qigong, and Meditation for All - Fridays, June 7, July 5, August 2, and Sept. 6, 6 p.m. outside Carondelet Center

Please join us for a series of four different styles of movement in Tai Chi and Qigong.
We will be engaging our senses as we do movements outside Carondelet Center at 6:00 PM on the first Fridays in June-Sept. The four different styles or programs are Tai Chi for Rehabilitation, Tai Chi for Arthritis, Tai Chi Chih, and Qigong. Slow movements can be powerful in healing especially when we are connected to nature. Relax your nervous system, engage the mind differently, and slow down to the rhythm of your breath and the earth.
Come to relax, be challenged, and be invigorated at the same time.
Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes and clothing (good to dress in layers and dress for the weather.
Each class offered this summer series does not build on each other. For more in-depth lessons, make this request with Wisdom Way so that we can offer more in-depth programming in the future.

Session 1 - Tai Chi For Rehabilitation:
Tai Chi For Rehabilitation is a Tai Chi for Health form that is a mix of Sun, Yang, and Chen Styles and it is great for beginners and intermediate levels. Enjoy slow graceful movements that create inner and outer balance, strength, and vitality. Tai Chi for Health uses a stepwise progressive teaching method in each class. We spend 15 minutes on warm-ups or qigong movements, 15 minutes on stepwise instruction, 15 minutes on practice, and 15 minutes on cool down and reflection. This program is endorsed by many health organizations was started by Dr. Paul Lam.

The class will be taught with options of either standing or sitting. All levels are welcome and no experience is required. All are welcomed as we practice slowly and we move within one's comfort zone.

Session 2 - Tai Chi For Arthritis:
Tai Chi For Arthritis or (Sun 21 or Sun 41) is a Tai Chi for Health form that is a Sun Style form of tai chi, and it is great for beginners and intermediate levels. Enjoy slow graceful movements that create inner and outer balance, strength, and vitality. Tai Chi for Health uses a lstepwise progressive teaching method in each class. We spend 15 minutes on warm-ups or qigong movements, 15 minutes on stepwise instruction, 15 minutes on practice, and 15 minutes on cool down and reflection. This program endorsed by many health organizations was started by Dr. Paul Lam.

Session 3 - Tai Chi Chih
Tai Chi Chih is a form of Qigong that is 19 movements and a pose. It is great program for beginners and intermediate level. Enjoy slow graceful movements that create inner and outer balance, strength, and vitality. We spend 45 minutes on practice of the movement and 15 minutes on deepening/meditation/reflection. This program endorsed by many health organizations was started by Justin Stone in New Mexico.

The class will be taught with options of either standing or sitting. All levels are welcome and no experience is required. All are welcomed as we practice slowly and we move within one's comfort zone.

Session 4 - Qigong
Mindful moving meditation, touching worlds together. This is a mix of several styles of Qigong and it is great for beginners and intermediate levels. Enjoy slow graceful movements that create inner and outer balance, strength, and vitality. We spend 40 minutes on slow movement, 15 minutes on meditation snd 10 min on sound healing. This is ancient movement practice mixed with healing practices.

The class will be taught with options of either standing or sitting. All levels are welcome and no experience is required. All are welcomed as we practice slowly and we move within one's comfort zone.

Stephanie Siddiqui completed her Master’s and Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Psychology from St. Cloud State University in 1995 and 1997. In 1997, she started in the field of Information Technology working for IBM, the State of Texas, and other employers for about 15 years, and then worked part-time in social media for 6 years in 2012. In 2014, she started a small non-profit called Sea Others Foundation, www.seaothers.org. In 2016, she started teaching Tai Chi and in 2018, she started Touching Worlds LLC, www.touchingworlds.com.

Stephanie is currently accredited or certified to teach: Tai Chi for Health (Sun 21) Tai Chi for Arthritis Part 1 and Falls Preventions Instructor, Tai Chi for Health (Sun 41) or Tai Chi for Arthritis Part 2 Instructor, Tai Chi for Health - Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis Instructor, Tai Chi for Health - Tai Chi for Rehabilitation Instructor, Tai Chi Chih Instructor, Practice Group Leader from Spring Forest Qigong, YMCA Tai Chi for Better Balance Instructor, Tai Ji Quan Moving for Better Balance (TJQMBB), YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise by ACE (American Council on Exercise) and Breathing Coach by Mind Body Science Institute. Also, Stephanie loves to fuse movement, music, meditation, the healing arts, and more through facilitating, teaching, and artistic and musical expression with community events.
