Come enjoy a spring concert with Border CrosSing, which integrates historically segregated audiences and musicians by creating a landscape where singers and audiences more closely reflect the racial and cultural composition of the Twin Cities.
Puentes concerts are centered around Latinx culture, stories and community. “Island Baroque” will feature rarely performed early music and traditional polyphonic vocal music from the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and surrounding regions played on period instruments. Highlights include gems by Cuban 18th-century composer Esteban Salas.
COST: Tickets for this event can be purchased through Border CrosSing.
This event will be held in Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel; the chapel is attached to the east side of the Carondelet Center and faces Randolph Avenue.
Border CrosSing is led by Ahmed Fernando Anzaldúa El Samkary, a Mexican conductor and pianist of Egyptian descent who is a recognized authority in Latin American and Spanish music and co-editor of the Justice Choir songbook.
