9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Begone all notions that there is only a single view of creation in Scripture! Together we will explore ten different ways that Scripture speaks of creation. In each “portrait”—drawn from Genesis, Psalms, Job, some law, some prophets, Proverbs, and a bit of Paul, John, and Revelation—we’ll give special emphasis to the implied human role.
Bring your Bibles, engage in reflection, readings, music and new insights for a time when the climate, the human role, and the concept of ‘steward’ are all in flux.
Diane Jacobson, professor emerita of Old Testament at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, was the first woman to teach Bible at any Lutheran seminary in the US. A frequent speaker and author of many publications, Jacobson is a lover of Scripture whose calling is to teach Scripture for the sake of God’s world, and to invite others into the wonders and rewards of exploring the Bible together.
