The Enneagram Model: A Map to Wholeness
Not only do we need the capacity to observe ourselves during our downward journey, but we must be able to do so with kindness in order to ascend into our best selves. Self-judgment often arises as we explore our patterns, and the antidote to judgment is curiosity. Scott suggests staying curious as we work with the Enneagram by often repeating the phrase, “Isn’t that interesting?” As we befriend ourselves in this manner, accepting both what we like and dislike about ourselves, we can steadily blossom into an essential self that is present to this life and its richness. And this is a much larger life, lived for and with other people for the betterment of the planet. This is the wholeness that the Enneagram is inviting us into.
