Start or continue to work toward antiracism by identifying internalized narratives, inviting body awareness, and engaging presence practices in this three-part online workshop. Together, we will explore racism not as a personal choice but as a collective, often subconscious reality that affects literally every person who grew up in Western cultures. Like our Enneagram types, racism tells a story of who we are that is incomplete.

Through presentations, small group conversations, exercises, breakout caucus groups for white people and people of color, and video excerpts of interviews with people of color who have worked with the Enneagram, we’ll discover how Enneagram type can inform reactions to and participation in race conversations.

The facilitators believe that this work, for both people of color and white people, is not only possible but essential for personal and communal healing. By doing deep inward work for the sake of social transformation, we discover how to shed false narratives and unearth truth. For participants of color, this workshop will give language and tools for engaging internalized oppression and healing wounds. For white participants, this workshop will increase awareness of unintentional reinforcement of oppression and options for choosing a new way.

This course will be held via Zoom. See program page for online course expectations and details.

This series is facilitated by Rev. Tyler Sit and Debbi Horton.
