Catholic teaching describes the common good as “the sum total of social conditions which allow people, either as groups or as individuals, to reach their fulfillment more fully and more easily.” This presentation and discussion will focus on the meaning of the common good and the moral ideas supporting the idea of the common good. It will then consider whether the common good is a viable public moral principle today.
