Winter’s Pause: A Sacred Journey through Poetry, Song, and Silence

Thursday, December 17, 2015, 7:00 - 8:30 pm

Join us for a blessed respite from the headlong rush of the frantic world. Step into this slow solstice time to savor beauty, reflect, and breathe. Ponder the wisdom of wise ones whose voices reach through the ages to touch our lives.

“Every time I go into the darkness, I return with fistfuls of jewels,” says singer/songwriter Barbara McAfee, our guide on this exquisite expedition. She will offer an array of original songs based on the work of great poets such as Rumi, Hafiz, Antonio Machado, Mary Oliver, Lucille Clifford, and Galway Kinnell.

In between, we’ll taste the resonant, candlelit silence. We will sing together as well – simple songs that evoke the blessings of this solstice time and remind us of our deep connection to each other and all that is.

Join us to find the jewels in the darkness.
