An icon is like a window to God. It can be an image or a story that draws you in by its beauty, design or meaning, and then points you to the Eternal. Icons are art and prayer. Using image, fabric and handquilting, these icons tell the stories of women of the Bible, members of Hagberg’s imaginary “Red Sea Band.” Reflection questions allow the viewer to make personal connections with the women.

Our Story Belonging in God's Story: Artist Presentation

Join writer, spiritual director and quilter Janet Hagberg as she leads Visio-Divina with icons from the Red Sea Band exhibit. This group of fabric icons tells the stories of the courageous women of the Bible—chosen when Hagberg imagined them playing musical instruments and singing in the Red Sea Band.

Using the icons as a pathway to prayer and self-reflection, come listen to what the subjects of each icon have to share.

When: Thursday, October 15, 7:00 - 8:30 pm

Cost: Free; please register
