Faith as Pilgrimage: A Literary Journey with Marilynne Robinson
Three sessions on Marilyn Robinson’s novel Home
This book study and conversation of Robinson’s novel Home considers how the author calls her readers to a deeper, more courageous and perhaps quieter sense of faith. What does the book reveal about faith as a life of pilgrimage – the life of passion, restlessness and yearning? How does Robinson’s story challenge us “to overcome the frustration which at times grips us” and to “pose authentic questions” and “burn with desire,” in the words of Catholic theologian Bruno Forte.

"There is a saying that to understand is to forgive, but that is an error, so Papa used to say. You must forgive in order to understand. Until you forgive, you defend yourself against the possibility of understanding." - Marilynne Robinson, Home |
