Rev. Barbara Lund
Tapping into the myriad of ways the Spirit is at work gives Barbara Lund great energy and joy. As director of Wisdom Ways, she loves visioning themes and weaving them through all the pieces of a program season. Barbara plans and collaborates with artists, writers, musicians, poets, activists and theologians to shape conversations and programs that illumine and encourage our spiritual walk.
A pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), nurturing the community around Wisdom Ways matters to Barbara. She creates spaces where people can learn and grow in an atmosphere of inquiry and rest, challenge and welcome. Barbara encourages people to ask hard questions and probe new ideas, to uncover ancient, nurturing spiritual practices that widen our perspectives and experiences of faith. The vibrancy people bring to reimagining and embodying new ways of living faithfully and justly inspire her immensely.
Barbara has been weaving people, gifts and connections for many years. Committed to ecumenical and interreligious collaboration, she has served as director of ELCA Global Mission to the Asia/Pacific region, director of Global Mission Events and, as pastor of Tokyo Union Church in Tokyo, Japan, and interim pastor in the Dordogne area of France. Barbara came to Wisdom Ways in August of 2008.
