Meditation: A Way of Christian Prayer
Day of Contemplative Prayer
Saturday, March 24, 8:30am-3:15pm
A day of contemplative prayer provides a more extended and focused time to deepen our existing practice of meditation. On this day, a pattern of sitting and walking meditations, teachings, mindful movements and chanting will offer an experience of prayer and silence. Please plan to attend the entire day.
Limited to 25 participants.
WHEN: Saturday, March 24, 8:30am-3:15pm
COST: $40, includes lunch.
Holy Saturday Meditation
Enter into the emptiness of Holy Saturday. This time of prayer includes a short reading, two 25-minute sitting meditations and walking meditation. Open to all. Registration is not required and the session is free of charge.
WHEN: Saturday, April 7, 9:00am–10:15am
Facilitators: Deborah Chernick, a CSJ consociate, has studied and practiced meditation for many years and is on the board of the Trust for the Meditation Process. She is a financial management consultant for nonprofits. Susan Oeffling, CSJ, a spiritual director and group facilitator, has practiced meditation for years. With master’s degrees in theology and counseling, she completed her education as a spiritual director through the Center for Spiritual Guidance.
