LISTEN: Brian talks about home.
When you think of the word home, what comes to your mind? (Excerpt from catalog)
I try to create an experience of home for everyone who comes here to the St. Jane House in North Minneapolis. When people come here, [they] have this experience that we’ve been waiting for them. Their name may be in chalk on the sidewalk when they approach if they are from a large group, or their name on their bedroom door or on a notecard on their bed next to some chocolates. Or flowers, fresh flowers in the room. These are ways that people feel welcomed. Home just seems to me to be one of the most important things that we can create for ourselves and one another, to create those safe places for people to feel at home. I wake up every morning just so grateful for having a place, a home. And to be able to share that home with others is really a wonderful experience.
