“Contemplative living is living in true relationship with oneself, God, others and nature, free of the illusions of separateness.”—Thomas Merton
Are you longing for a stronger connection to life’s quieter, contemplative dimensions? Seeking practical ways to integrate harmony and wholeness into your days? Searching for support in moving from your head to your heart, through silence and contemplation? Come join this series of gatherings for men on a journey towards a more contemplative, compassionate, and integrated life.
This fall's four sessions will be based on volume 7 of the Bridges to Contemplative Living Series, Adjusting Your Life's Vision. Along with Thomas Merton's writings, we will have contrasting written presentations by Dorothy Day, Mohandas Gandhi, Edith Stein and Eknath Easwaran. We will examine non-violence as lived by contemplatives as well as the role of hospitality for those committed to contemplative living.
Contemplative Living provided me the space to take a deeper look at the importance of silence, meditation, my yoga practice, and my own spiritual beliefs. I enjoyed being in a group of amazing men willing to dig deeper into their own spirituality. The highlights for me were being exposed to several contemplatives including Thomas Merton and reading his book Seven Story Mountain.-Clarence Chaplin | Bridges participant
