900 Gallons + Live Music by Eileen & the In-Betweens

Friday, July 14, 2017

7:00 - 9:00 pm

This evening features music by Eileen & the In-Betweens with a performance of 900 Gallons by Nicole Gurgel-Seefeldt, followed by a post-show discussion.

900 Gallons is an invitation to look deeply and honestly at legacies of whiteness. Through ritual and poetry, story and song, and an unnerving amount of milk drinking, Nicole Gurgel-Seefeldt traces the subtle and not-so-subtle ways white supremacy is woven into her family's – and this country's – history. Moving backwards and forwards in time, 900 Gallons reckons with the spiritual poison of superiority, while creating space for the full-hearted truth telling needed to undermine it.
